Pal naast Eindhoven Centraal, en daarom goed te bereizen met de nachttrein, ligt het opvallende pand van de Effenaar. Het was sinds 1971 jarenlang gevestigd in een oude linnenfabriek, maar in 2005 verhuisde het poppodium annex club naar de nieuwe locatie, dat gerust als een architectonisch kunstwerk mag worden bestempeld. Designstad Eindhoven verdient natuurlijk een poppodium in een modern en opvallend gebouw. Die missie is geslaagd. Het pand heeft niet alleen van binnen en van buiten een futuristische uitstraling, maar is ook heel functioneel ingericht. In de twee zalen treden niet alleen de meest beroemde bands van deze aardkloot op, ook talloze nationale èn internationale topjocks hebben hier de boel op stelten gezet.

Onderstaande huisregels zijn opgesteld in verband met de veiligheid in zijn algemeen als ook met de veiligheid en het welbevinden van de bezoekers. Naleving van deze regels is te allen tijde verplicht. Het niet naleven van de regels heeft verwijdering uit de Effenaar tot gevolg. 1. Minimum leeftijd: -Bij dance programma’s geldt een minimum leeftijd van 16 jaar -Bij concert programma’s is er geen toegang onder 16 jaar , tenzij onder begeleiding van een volwassene (18+). Genoemde minimum leeftijden zijn algemeen geldend, tenzij uitdrukkelijk anders vermeld. 2. Geldige legitimatie is verplicht. 3. Bezoekers kunnen gefouilleerd en/of gecontroleerd worden. In dat geval is medewerking verplicht. 4. Handel in soft- en harddrugs en gebruik van harddrugs is in de Effenaar verboden. 5. De Effenaar schenkt geen alcoholische dranken aan personen onder 16 jaar en geen sterk alcoholische dranken aan personen onder 18 jaar. 6. Het gebruiken of dragen van voorwerpen die als wapens en/of gevaarlijk worden aangemerkt, zijn verboden. 7. Ongewenst gedrag, in welke vorm dan ook, wordt absoluut niet getolereerd. Onder ongewenst gedrag verstaat de Effenaar onder andere: racistische, fascistische, seksistische, beledigende en/of discriminerende uitlatingen, ongewenste intimiteiten, hinderlijk en/of agressief gedrag, vernielingen en geweld, etc. Respect voor mede bezoekers, Effenaar personeel en het gebouw is vereist. 8. Personen die duidelijk onder invloed zijn van drank of drugs wordt de toegang geweigerd. 9. Op diverse plaatsen, binnen en buiten de Effenaar, hangen beveiligingscamera’s. Een ieder die de Effenaar bezoekt, stemt toe in het maken van opnames. Bij calamiteiten kunnen deze opnames als onder steunend materiaal getoond worden aan derden. 10. Dieren worden niet toegelaten. 11. Het meenemen van eigen consumpties is verboden. 12. Het is niet toegestaan om glazen of flessen, met of zonder drank, mee naar buiten te nemen. 13. Het is niet toegestaan om tassen mee te nemen in de zalen. 14. Het is verboden om zich met meerdere personen in één toiletruimte te bevinden. 15. Zonder toestemming vooraf is het niet toegestaan om in de Effenaar te fotograferen, film-, video- en/of geluidsopnames te maken. Onrechtmatig verkregen opnames worden in beslag genomen. 16. Het is verboden in of rond het gebouw goederen te verhandelen zonder uitdrukkelijke toestemming van de Effenaar. 17. Instructies van Effenaar personeel dienen in het belang van eigen veiligheid direct opgevolgd te worden. 18. Bij overtreding van de regels wordt toegang ontzegd, zonder restitutie van entreegeld. 19. Voor promotieactiviteiten moet ruim van te voren schriftelijk toestemming verkregen zijn. Het aanbrengen van posters, binnen in en/of aan de buitenzijde van het gebouw is niet toegestaan. Flyeren mag enkel geschieden bij binnenkomst van het publiek. 20. Met ingang van 1 juli 2008 is in de Effenaar een algeheel wettelijk rookverbod van kracht, hetgeen inhoudt dat nergens in het gebouw gerookt mag worden met uitzondering van de uitdrukkelijk daarvoor aangewezen ruimte(s). Bij overtreding zal de eventuele boete (oplopend tot € 2400) door de Effenaar worden verhaald op de overtreder.

Aansprakelijkheid In diverse ruimtes in de Effenaar wordt meer dan 85 dB(A) aan geluid geproduceerd. De Effenaar aanvaardt geen enkele aansprakelijkheid voor de nadelige gevolgen die hierdoor wellicht kunnen optreden aan het gehoor, noch voor andere gevolgen van het bezoek aan de Effenaar. Het verblijf in de Effenaar is geheel op eigen risico. Gehoorbeschermers zijn tegen vergoeding verkrijgbaar bij de garderobe.De Effenaar is niet aansprakelijk voor schade aan en diefstal of vermissing van garderobe-items of de inhoud ervan. Haal waardevolle spullen altijd uit jaszakken en tassen.

Het overtreden van de huisregels, alsmede het uitlokken of aanzetten tot overtreding, leidt altijd tot verwijdering uit de Effenaar in de vorm van een voorlopig lokaalverbod. Dit duurt tenminste tot de eerstvolgende bijeenkomst van het managementteam welke vervolgens de uiteindelijke straf bepaalt. Indien besloten wordt tot een definitief lokaalverbod, wordt dit gemeld bij de politie. Overtreding van dit lokaalverbod leidt tot aangifte en uitzetting door de politie en de bijbehorende gerechtelijke procedure. Van strafbare feiten die gepleegd worden in de Effenaar wordt te allen tijde aangifte gedaan bij de politie.

Klachten, van welke aard dan ook, kunnen schriftelijk bij de Effenaar worden gemeld. Klachten dienen binnen drie werkdagen na het moment van ontstaan te worden gemeld. Daarna vervalt het “klachtrecht”.
